The Dorados is a dense ring of asteroids, discovered in 2580. It orbits the red dwarf Tunja at approx. 3 Gm away. (tNA:13)
As of 2611, there are seven settled asteroids in the Dorados:

It is thought that the Dorados ring is the remains of a collision between a small planet and a large interstellar asteroid. (tNA:13)
There are 387 major asteroids in the Dorados, of which more than 250 being roughly spherical.They consist of nearly pure metal, solar wind having abraded their surfaces to a glossy shine. (tNA:13)
This high mineral content makes them extremely valuable as a supply of raw material for almost immediate industrial use, elliminating the need for most refining operations.
It was over these valuable asteroids that war broke out between Garissa and Omuta after both planets claimed sovereignty over the ring.
After the Garrisan Genocide the Dorados were granted to the survivors and their descendants. They went on to turn the it into a thriving small community of ore miners and specialist alloy manufactors: As of 2611 the Dorados has an excellent living standard.
(Spoiler Warning)
After the events of the 2611 crisis the uninhabited Dorados are transported to the the disk cities of the Mosdva, while the inhabited asteroids and industrial stations are transported to the New Washington system and the two Habitats are transported to the Sol System in orbit of Jupiter.
